he Rochester Democrat and Chronicle announced their 2017 All-Greater Rochester Lacrosse team on Friday. The list features the top sixteen players and a number of honorable mentions were led by HFL senior Caitlin Muir who was named Player of the Year. She finished the season with 64g-30a.  She will continue to play next season at Michigan.

# 299  State Quarter Finals
ection Five swept Section Six in the State Quarter Finals.  Canandaigua defeated Hamburg 16-6, HFL defeated Lake Shore 16-12, Pal-Mac defeated East Aurora 17-0 and Pittsford defeated Frontier 15-1.  The Panthers and Red Raiders also won the Boys Western Regional Championships and both schools with have 2 teams in thate State Semi-Finals.

t the conclusion of the Class B Tournament, the All Tournament Team was announced.  The Team consists of the top 13 players in the Class B Tournament this year.  There are 12 regular spots and an MVP spot.

# 292  Semi-Final Match-ups
The Semi-Final matches will be played over the next two days.  In all four tournaments that top 4 seeds advanced to the semi-finals. Class B and Class D will play on May 26th at Pittsford Sutherland and Eastridge. Class A and Class C will play on May 27th at HFL and Schroeder.

After the first night of games, both #1 seeds were defeated by the #4 seeds.  Penn Yan avenged their earlier loss in the regular season with a 13-6 win over top seeded Waterloo and Thomas avenged their overtime loss to Brighton in the regular season with an 8-6 win.  The #2 seeds (Canandaigua and Pal-Mac) both advanced.  The Braves will face the Titans and the Red Raiders will face the Mustangs on Tuesday May 30th.

# 289  Smith Leads Canandigua to Victory
econd seeded Canandaigua scored five unanswered goals to take the lead late in the first half and never let up in their 11-7 win over seventh seeded Schroeder.  The Warriors kept up their play until the end; but every time they attempted to tie the game, the Braves had a response.  The turning point of the game came at 10:47 with Peyton Smith’s third goal of the game.  She scored on a broken clear that turned the momentum from in favor of the Warriors to squarely with the Braves.  Smith led the offense with 4g-1a and was a major factor during the defensive clearing ride.

here were 13 games to start out the week.  Fairport defeated Penfield 11-10 and Waterloo defeated Aquinas 13-12 in the closest games of the night.  Additional games included, Brighton over Churchville-Chili 7-2, Thomas over Pal-Mac 13-10, Midlakes over Gananda 9-5, Penn Yan over East Rochester 18-5, Victor over Hilton 13-3, Mynderse over Eastridge 20-8, Spencerport over Livonia 22-5, CBA over HFL 17-11, Arc/Oly over Gates Chili 19-4, Canandaigua over Geneva 16-4 and Brockport over Ath/Ody 14-7.

# 264  Canandaigua Fights Back in Second Half
anandaigua came back from trailing by three to defeat Webster Schroeder 11-9.  The Braves scored six unanswered goals to end the first half and start off the second.  Canandaigua scored the first goal of the game with an unassisted goal from Emma O’Neill.  The Warriors responded with three in a row to take the lead.  Payton Lill scored two with Madison Bell scoring the third.  Canandaigua stayed close and tied the game at 3-3 and 4-4.  Webster scored their fifth goal with another unassisted goal from Lill.  0:12 later, Abby Moon scored for the Warriors.  Bell recorded her second assist to Kelsey Nelson with 8:44 remaining in the first half. The Warrior did not score again until 8:44 remained in the second half.

# 201  Canandaigua only Game on Friday
he Braves played the only game on Friday with the remaining games postponed due to weather.  Canandaigua traveled to Ithaca and defeated the Reds 16-6.  Natalie Gwynn led in scoring with 3g-3a and Peyton Smith added another 2g-3a.  Additional stats are HERE.

# 199  Smith Leads Braves with 7 Points
Peyton Smith finished with 3g-4a for Canandaigua in their 15-3 win over Hilton.  The Braves controlled the majority of the possession time during the contest.  They finished the game with 30 shots while holding the Cadets to only 7.  They also won the groundball count 31-12.

# 86  Muir Excels in Victory
fter a relatively close opening half, Honeoye Falls-Lima scored five unanswered goals to take control of the game over Canandaigua.  Although the Braves never gave up, HFL won 11-7.  The Cougars held a three goal lead for the entire second half; every time the Braves attempted a comeback the Cougars scored to keep strong control.

ith 11 Games tonight the closest game of the night was two-goal wins from Brighton over Schroeder 9-7 and Irondequoit over R-H 10-8.  The largest disparity was Hilton over Gates-Chili 18-3.  The remaining games were Pittsford over C-C 9-3, Penfield over Victor 12-8, Fairport over HFL 13-10, Brockport over Eastridge 21-9, Aquinas over Gananda 14-4 and Thomas over Canandaigua 8-4.

Four games were decided by a single goal tonight.  HFL defeated Thomas (6-5) in overtime, Greece Ath/Ody defeated Eastridge (9-8), Fairport defeated Churchville-Chili (8-7) and Mynderse defeated Midlakes (10-9).  In more one sided contests, Canandaigua over Schroeder 8-4, Pittsford over Irondequoit 9-6 and Hilton over Greece Oly/Arc 13-4.

# 42  Clement Scores Back to Back 8m to Secure Win for Braves
ayla Clement turned the game around and helped secure a 7-5 win for Canandaigua over Penfield.  Clement, a senior, finished the game with 2g-1a, but all three came at the perfect time for the Braves.  Clement assisted the goal to bring the score within one; then she scored the tying and go-ahead goals off of 8 meter shots.

fter two days of all games being cancelled, three games were finally played in Section Five.  Although five others were cancelled, Canandaigua defeated Waterloo (12-3), Fairport defeated Aquinas (16-6) and Penfield defeated Irondequoit (9-8).

# 18  2015 All-Greater Rochester
The 2015 All Greater Rochester list was published at the end of the season and Webster Thomas senior Emily Resnick was named the 2015 Player of the Year by the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle.  All told, sixteen players were noted on the list.  Leading the charge were players from Churchville Chili, Victor, Pittsford and Irondequoit with two players each.
